Whilst sitting in the office many years ago, a group of young men were talking and decided that they would like to form a band. Since my guitar playing skills were non existent, I was nominated as drummer and as they say the rest is history…………

Drumming is a passion of mine and to be able to play with The Gastric Band is a very rewarding and enjoyable experience.

I enjoy playing and listening to all types of music but especially enjoy rock n roll, R and B, blues and much more.

Although band names and band members have come and gone over the years, I hope to be singing and drumming with Graham and Howard for many years to come.

GRAHAM

(Bass Guitar and Vocals)

I first took an interest in modern music at school, learning to sing and play a six string guitar.

By the age of fifteen, I was playing in my first band, The Ivory Fashion, doing regular weekly gigs

A couple of years later, in my next band, I met Alan, our current drummer

Over the years we have had various band names and members and it was a great era for learning the chart songs including the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Kinks etc

I originally sang backing vocals and played guitar and in recent years have progressed to lead singer playing a five string bass guitar

Music has played a great part in my life and enabled me to travel to many places in the UK playing in various venues and meeting some interesting people

HOWARD

(Guitar and Vocals)

For me, it all started back in the fifties watching the likes of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis on the TV. Rock and Roll was beckoning.

Not until I reached my teens did I get the urge to actually play the music. It was Hank Marvin (Shadows) particularly, but when ‘You Really Got Me’ by the Kinks was released I was hooked!

I was lucky enough to receive my first guitar soon after - I have never looked back since.

As I am fortunate in having a varied taste in music it has given me the opportunity of playing in a variety of covers bands over the years, loving every minute.

I have recently taken delivery of a custom “Gus” guitar which is midi enabled and feel I am now in heaven and enjoying playing more than ever.
